The lesson here is that (1) famous people have to give up a lot of quaint outings due to their visibility; (2) there are a lot of cultural bullies in NYC who you just have to tell to FO; and (3) if you have to wear a bullet-proof vest to go to the airport, you probably should avoid Movies in the Park altogether. I guess (1) is subsumed in (3), but what the hell. It is a drag that the left is so violent. Back in ’69 I was a freshman at Texas A&M. (Parents made me go there.) I was one of about a dozen “longhairs” on campus. I remember the cafeteria getting suddenly silent, right before this cowboy dude “accidentally” poured a glass of milk of the young hippie who was eating alone. The place erupted in applause. Yes, your ideas can cause you to get your butt whipped. I remember groups of conservative students following me like a pack of dogs, hurling insults and spitting. I’d remember their faces, and approach them when they were alone. They always ran away. Not much has changed, really.

Just a quick FYI -saw your article on Mr. Beck and his numerous FALSE claims about the way that he was treated at Bryant Park last night. Myself and several of my friends were seated immediately behind Mr. Beck & co (have pictures) and I can tell you that while the crowd was certainly not *thrilled* that he had shown up, his family was left completely alone, and for the most part he was too. Conversely, it was his security detail (two body guards) that seemed to be unnecessarily prickly with the crowd, scolding myself and my friends for acrobatics and other harmless activities taking place well before the movie started, and contributing to a considerably less relaxed atmosphere than is typically experienced during BPMN (I’ve been going for about six years now).

It was my friend that spilled the glass of wine on Tanya -and I can assure you that it was a complete accident. A happy one, to be sure, but nonetheless a complete and utter accident. As soon as the wine spilled (and I question how Tanya became soaked from a half glass of wine) apologies were made and my friends pretty much scrambled to give Tanya & co napkins -no doubt aware that it would look terrible and that their actions could be perceived as purposeful. No words were exchanged after that, as I think that it became pretty clear to Beck & co that my friends and I were doing everything in our capacity to help clean the “mess”.

I’m sure it’s unnecessary to point out the hypocrisy in Glen’s statements that we were being hateful. I can assure him that we don’t need his sympathy. Incidentally, none of us have made a career of “spewing hate” on the radio, or any other media platform. We live our lives intolerant only of those who don’t tolerate: We have chosen New York as our city for that very reason. They create the persona their bias sees.

I think the issue is corruption. Serving themselves and their financial backers rather than the welfare of the public. Nobody is immune. first of all, has anyone ever been to bryant park movie night? Wow!! Glenn Beck has truly become my hero after this. What an incredible man he is!! I’ve been through difficult times in my life. Jon Bershad please report on the facts: Beck claimed to have been the victim of some sort of angry mob – what did this mob do? There are apparently no witnesses to his claims. There is no police report. There are, apparently, some witnessess who saw him or were nearby but saw NOTHING of what Beck claimed. Instead of making the focus of this story on some fictitious angry mob, why not focus on Beck’s inability to back up one single thing he is claiming with any facts at all?

Beck, whehter you like him or not, is a celebrity. Celebrities tend to be “celebrated” , i.e., focused upon. Beck is a pathetic crackpot who, when not spouting the latest conspiracy lie, is crying about how everyone is picking on him. I have no respect for anyone who takes that weeping fool seriously.

There was a witness, and Jon contacted her. She reported that nothing like what Beck is reporting happened that evening.

What is very strange is that Bershad does not then note that Beck is lying about this incident. Two witnesses report basically the same thing which does not comport with Beck’s account of the evening, and the “reporter,” Bershad cannot or will not be so “bold” as to call Beck what he is: a liar.

Beckerheads like X-3 and others here just cannot grasp the extent to which Beck is deceiving them. Just as there were many liberals who thought that 9-11 was an inside job, Beckerheads believe what they want to believe. Beck is extremely convincing. Doing research on Beck’s claims makes it clear, very quickly, that Beck is lying some times and using actual facts other times to create an overall narrative (story) that is false (fiction). The fools who respect Glenn Beck are either ignorant of actual reality (from watching Fox news no doubt) or they are part of Beck’s cult of personality, blinded by their adoration of this sleazy, reactionary, yellow propagandist. Or both.

What support’s jakester’s claim that Beck’s tears are fake are 1) his director on The Christmas Sweater has said that Beck could pull up any emotion upon demand and 2) Beck hasn’t cried much lately. This example is the first in quite a while meaning that for whatever reason, Beck had decided that tears were not the way to go.
