@Cecelia, I left this comment to you under another post so I am repeating it here.

I agree completely and I think that was Beck’s point. However, they did have some reservations when, as Beck pointed out, the more blatantly obvious example of these “romantic notions,” Diego Rivera’s “Man at the Crossroads” was removed from Rockefeller Center in NYC because it contained a seemingly “admiring” portrait of Vladimir Lenin.

It is sad that Beck needs to resort to clown antics to get his point across because it makes him lose some level of respect, however, on the other hand it also gives him the luxury of saying more controversial things than if he had presented them in a more reserved manner.

The Obama supporters are constantly trying to make a connection between people that disagree with Obama and racism, they use it as a means of distraction from the fact that Obama is incompetent. That seems to be their only defense.

Unfortunately, Mediaite seems to be turning into just another arm of the Obama publicity machine.

I think his point is that progressives and some well-heeled self-hating capitalists of the early 20th century, had romantic notions about socialism, and closed their eyes to the reality of that system, and that they haven't changed much since.

Too bad he thinks he has to look like a middle-aged Peewee Herman on acid when saying it.

Interesting that Beck rails against the art at Rockefeller Center...while broadcasting his daily radio show from Radio City. He's a paying tenant of Rockefeller Center who apparently can't stand to look at the surroundings he's chosen.

I think the term "feud" is a misrepresentation that benefits Keith Olbermann.

The truth is that early in his tenure as anchorman of Countdown, Olbermann began using the show as his personal bludgeon to publicly batter all those he dislikes.

It is true that he does dislike some people more (FNC staff) than he does others, but the show is largely his vehicle for vilifying all and sundry of folks, both public and private.

He does so because these people are either:

1. already pariahs in some sense, and therefore easy targets for Olbermann's kick-em-when-they're-down bully-boy cravings

2. are people who don't see things his way.

If Olbermann has a feud it's with the entire blooming planet.

If Warhol was still alive he'd characterize this as the era when everyone in the world will have fifteen minutes of being hated by Keith Olbermann.

MSNBC is the proverbial tree that falls in a forest. The few that watch that cable channel will always watch that channel, so Beck's rantings here serve no purpose. The people who don't watch Olbermann et al will NEVER watch Olbermann et al. Many people (myself included) have erased MSNBC from their TV's channel memory; you can't even tune to it!
