Jesse Ventura Likens US Gov. To Nazis, Says He’d Run For VP (But Only As An Independent)

Jesse Ventura appeared on Good Morning America this morning for a typically loopy segment with George Stephanopoulos to promote his new book. They talked about how funny Chris Rock is, Michele Bachmann’s presidential prospects, and, of course, whether or not the US government orchestrated the deaths of thousands of Americans on 9/11. Stephanopoulos also asked Ventura if he had any White House aspirations. Ventura said he’d consider a Vice Presidential run but only as an Independent since everyone else is part of the problem.

The 9/11 talk was fun and included such notable quotes as the Nazi comparison from our headline. However, at this point, Jesse Ventura talking conspiracies is about as rare as Richard Simmons talking exercise, so lets focus on the Vice President stuff. Stephanopoulos brought up the question after airing an old clip of Ventura on The Young and the Restless (you laugh but can you honestly say it’s a less respected show than, say, Celebrity Apprentice?) in which Ventura’s character talks about running for president in 2004.

“STEPHANOPOULOS: How about 2012? No way?

VENTURA: I will tell you this. If Ron Paul runs as an Independent, I would give great consideration to being his running mate. As you see, I’ve dedicated this book to Congressman Ron Paul.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Not if he runs as a Republican?

VENTURA: Never. I will not run as a Republican or a Democrat. They are the problem, not the solution. We need to abolish political parties in this country.”

When asked about Bachmann’s chances, Ventura (who lives in her district), said that if she won, it would be without his vote.

Ron Paul and Jesse Ventura would make a great President and VP. Jesse Ventura doesn’t take crap from any democrat or republican and tells it like it is. WIth 9/11 all he is doing is asking questions, nothing was investigated about 9/11 and he forces people to answer the questions. The government wants people who believe everything they tell them because it makes there job so much easier and they get to get away with everything. Democrats and Republicans is a two party dictatorship its time to get rid of both. We should have more options when picking our president. When was the last time you saw an independent in a debate. Even Ron Paul cant even get into some of the debates. Jesse Ventura tells it straight up and isnt playing into the talking points of Democrats or Republicans.

I fully agree with you, Jerrybobphil. This guy is a full-on crazy man. Jesse Ventura has always been crazy. I will never vote for Jesse Ventura for anything. Even if he runs with Ron Paul, I would never vote for Jesse “Crazy Man” Ventura. I can not stand Jesse Ventura. He is a truther who is in the same boat as Woody Harrelson, Rosie O’Donnell, Willy Nelson, among others. This guy makes Lawrence O’Donnell and Ed Schultz look really smart.

I think good morning america had Ventura on because they already knew of his desire to run as VP with Ron Paul if he goes independent. That is there way of marginalizing ron paul as a nut job, which he is not. OK, maybe now I’m becoming a conspiracy theorist, but seriously, it wouldn’t surprise me.
