Mad Money‘s Jim Cramer Says That The Business World Is Now ‘Starting To Talk’ About Supporting President Obama

VIDEO

During a Morning Joe discussion about a Thomas Friedman op-ed piece in the New York Times that called for a coherent Republican opposition to President Obama, Mad Money‘s Jim Cramer offered up a startling bit of news; that many in the business world are starting to turn away from Mitt Romney and consider supporting President Obama.

“Business leaders, I find, really like Mitt Romney a lot,” host Joe Scarborough said, “and they get him. But they’re alone.”

“Business leaders see that he created some companies, business leaders recognize that he would encourage hiring,” Cramer said, “but I got to tell you. No one sounds as enthusiastic as I thought they would be, and people are starting to talk about Obama,”

“You’re saying even in the business community?” Scarborough asked.

“They used to be [for Romney],” Cramer replied, “but now they feel that…well hold it, it’s a social issue thing. We don’t really care about that. Some of our wives, some of our husbands care about social issues. That’s not the focus. The focus is job creation. What happened to that debate? What happened to it? I don’t know. There’s a lot of jobs created if you have a terrific way to be pro-business.”

    The 1%’ers!

Sure, he gave $1.3 Trillion of Fed money to the (6) top Banks, why wouldn’t they support him?
They’re the other half of the Crony-Capitalist Junta!

I’ll bet we won’t hear from the Democrat-supported OWS protestors about this; what say you?

They are talking about Obama because the GOP has the stink of loser. They don’t want to be stuck being known by the WH as the people who were dedicated to defeating him for the next 4 years. The truth is that is why big business people back any candidate. Not because of ideology but because of personal ambition. They always contribute to whoever they think will win in the hopes it buys them a seat at the table.

  • Anonymous

    you talking about TARP??

  • Anonymous

Suck it up, Norbie. Obama’s presidency has largely been a success and he’s on his way to reelection. You’ve got four more years to whine, cry, throw tantrums, yell at the TV and type out posts loaded with more exclamation points than sense.

    Deal with it.

Cramer is such a bandwagoner. Never ahead of the curve just follows the trends. He’s basically a Wall Street version of Gallagher. Instead of smashing melons he gives bad stock advice.

So now Republicans hate the 1% as well? Wow, now you guys literally do hate everybody.

I guess you’re one of those people who’s nostalgic for when we were losing 750,000 jobs a month, the markets were in free fall and we were on a path to stay in Iraq and Afghanistan indefinitely.

    The rest of us aren’t.

Automobile OEM’s saved. Pulled out of recession. Improving employment. After over 100 years, Health Care Reform including end to preexisting conditions, coverage for adult children living at home, employer credits on insurance premiums paid on behalf of employees, Bin Laden, out of Iraq, leaving Afghanistan. Yes, yes, yest. All disastrous.

    Ex,
First off, I talk to the TV, not yell.

So all you Dems are OK with Crony Capitalism, record-breaking lobbying, profligate spending quickly approaching Euro-standards, $1.3 Trillion to banks, selective law enforcement (Az. vs snctuary cities), record food stamps, record “entitlements”, retreating foreign policies, self-inflicted Mid East oil-dependency…

No, no, no, my yet-to-be NEW Republicans, Gordon Gecko was wrong.
It’s not Greed that’s the biggest motivator, it’s FEAR!

And I think the GOP has enough ammo to create a “Night of the Living Dead” scenario playing through peoples minds by 11-06-12!

You may be over-stating the Republican contraction. It is still possible for the Republicans to win without African Americans, Hispanics, women, the working class, swing suburbs, the young, the elderly, college graduates and the 1%. If we have a great cataclysm and only West Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi are left to vote.

Private sector dealerships and bond holders wiped out? I don’t know if you’re one of those easily excitable people heading up the hill to the manor house with pitch forks and torches or just a drama queen. My dear friend, viable private sector dealerships are all about us. Thick and heavy.

And, don’t worry about bond holders, They’re doing very well indeed.

But the best news, American still manufacturers automobiles and Detroit is in the midst of a mini-boom for the first time in a very, very long time.

Have you read the piece on MM?  Shows the coordination between MM and the WH and other media outlets.  For those who comment here (from the left) and conveniently ignore the close coordination and collusion between this WH and the so-called news organs it must be shocking to read this kind of stuff.

And here they attack me as being delusional – when it is clear they are once again projecting.

Those who ignore it, those who deny it, those who attack others for pointing it out are clearly getting worried.  The bias and collusion is gettng more and more clear daily.

Having spoken to nearly half a dozen Daily Caller staffers (both former and current) I can verify that Tucker Carlson has not made a public appearance in nearly 5 years. He sits in a hermetically sealed cargo container buried deeply in the soil of Michigan’s U.P. The entry is impossible to hack open.

The person we associate with Carlson is actually Jim Treacher’s mother (Ruthie May Medlock), amended carefully by surgery and cosmetic trickery to protect the D.C.’s secretive leader.

Further, the D.C. actually uses methods of communication, or M.C.’s, to share ideas with other people. In a number of scandalous cases, they attempt to persuade. In the worst cases, it has worked.

Reports from inside Carlson’s container paint a stark and troubling picture. Some say he smokes ganja. Others describe horse tranquilizers. Still others insist he licks the crystals that grow on Sherman Helmsley’s tender belly.

The point is hard to understand. The best summary might be… Tucker, drugs Helmsley crystals. Daily Caller write words Tucker lick. Tucker lick Sherman belly cargo seal. Cargo seal. Carlson hack. Impossible hack.

Tina, you have an annoying habit of cherry picking your “facts” to fit your pre-conceived narrative (just like Fox News — imagine that!).

What you conveniently ignore is this recent Pew study that showed that Obama has gotten more critical coverage than the Republicans:

    http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/10/gop-gets-more-positive-press-than-obama-pew-study-finds/

Sorry to derail your tired narrative, but you’re talking out of your ass.

  • http://gregingleright.weebly.com/ Greg

It’s the kind of journalism that will one day be studied in great depth.  Allegations of sex, drugs, hypocrisy, law breaking, described with every detail outside of source (I seem to remember Tucker’s desire for the presumption of innocence in his own case… now he’s the hostile prosecutor backed by ghost witnesses).

Some old scores to settle.  Ben Smith gets the treatment.  Why?  It goes back aways.  Tucker was once angered terribly by Smith’s criticism.  “The Daily Caller is ‘struggling’? What a ludicrous hack job, and stupid. F^ck you.”

Any surprise that a Breitbart messenger boy would show up to distract all day with a ghost sourced attack on progressives?  The article gives us a much better insight into the twisted and sick web of right wing distraction and misinformation than we could hope for.

The worst part is the number of right wingers calling for Brock’s murder over at the D.C.  They had to know that would be part of the effect of their reckless attack.

I don’t know if his statement is correct or not.  Romney (whom I support) has always run on his business and economic creds.  If the economy begins to heal will that be enough for the business community?  Only they can answer that.  We will see how they feel in the weeks to come.

And how much it matters with voters is really up in the air for now.

Much of the fall out from this will – of course – depend on the health of our economy – going forward.

It has been largely a success when you discount the labor pool decline, horrible GDP growth, the diminishing disposable income of the middle class, large expansion of government dependency, record breaking debt accrual, and inability balance the budget or to put spending in check…..but other then that things have been awesome that last three years.

Would could raise taxes to 80% on the “super rich” and that would not even be a drop in the bucket when applied to our deficit spending.

Tax increases will give a quick bump to revenues, while stifling long term growth with the decline in investment.  The only way to effect revenue in the long term is strong GDP growth.  And Raising taxes does not help GDP growth.

As reported by some guy, Brock is a passionate man who sometimes yells. Unidentified former staffers (who may or may not actually exist) announce that the organization whose mission includes rooting out rightwing lies regularly roots out rightwing lies and makes that information available to others — both media and political — who care about rightwing lies.

In some circles this is considered scandalous. In other circles, the all-purpose phrase, “No shit, Sherlock” is heard.

Starting? Obama was the biggest recipient of Wall Street  money.

” WASHINGTON, July 22 (Reuters) – Despite howls of protests
from many on Wall Street over some of President Barack Obama’s
policies, financial sector employees are giving at a greater
rate to his re-election bid than during his last campaign. One-third of the funds hauled in by Obama’s big-money backers came from executives and others linked to the financial
world, according to a report from the Center for Responsive Politics released on Friday. The financial sector accounted for about 20 percent of what Obama’s top fundraisers collected during his 2008 bid.

“Despite his rhetorical attacks on Wall Street, a study by the Sunlight Foundation’s Influence Project shows that President Barack Obama has received more money from Wall Street than any other politician over the past 20 years, including former President George W. Bush.”

That is exactly what the Republicans admitted to doing, and NOW they say they don’t believe in paying for those past credit card purchases by raising taxes.
When challenged on that, they all say NOW is not the time to raise taxes. In other words, let the bills pile up more until there is a good time to raise taxes.
    When will that be?

Obozos budget, the first one since he slimed his way into office, calls on a multitude of new taxes on business yet this clown thinks business are siding with him?
The left is getting more and more delusional as the chosen ones early retirement nears!!

I’ll make this simple for you.

Tax Rates.  How do they correlate to GDP growth?…understanding that most investments do not pay dividends the same year as the investment.

Here is a chart to help you with you edification of tax rates have historically been.

Dead beat kids living in their parents basement and failed car companies on taxpayers dimes are not achievements.  Neither is a debt crisis and no plan to deal with it.

It’s amazing, someone says something positive about Obama, and all of the crazies come out of the cracks and state the person making the statement is wrong, without providing any creditable support for their comment.  Just goes to demonstrate who does their thinking for them, and it’s not themselves.  FOX and all of the far right conservative pundits should be proud they have so many listeners that blindly trust what ever they tell them.

bond holders are often held by public pensions as well, so as is typical under Obama, the gov picked winners and losers.   Crony capitalism indeed.

At least in China you go in as a business and you know WHO to bribe to get your project started…

Listening to Republicans talking about ‘Crony capitalism’ is like listening to David Duke calling people racists.

No, I never made any comment on whether Cramer’s comment was based on facts or not.  In fact, I never even mentioned Cramer’s name.  Read my comment again.  All I said was someone comes out with a positive statement about Obama all of the crazies come out of the cracks with comments not supported by anything but their own opinions /and try to say he’s incorrect.

Certainly going to war should be weighed very carefully as to how many votes it might buy you. Do you people even hear yourselves?

That’s funny, the people I hear from all support (some rather reluctantly, mind you) Obama’s re-election. Including my father, who once was a die-hard Republican, but is angry over Republicans putting the economy at risk in order to make The President look bad (The Debt ceiling debacle, especially).

Please show some respect for the office of the Presidency. President Obama is your President too. The world looks at the way you behave trashing our President as someone who hates America. God Bless America we are all in this together, whether you like it or not.

There is an old expression that when someone on an online forum compares someone to Hitler, then the discussion has ended.  Around here, it seems that the first one who calls someone a Fox News fan is the one who has realized he’s lost the argument.  It’s a time saver to “search” for “Fox News” on this page and see who the doofus is who called it.  It’s just another liberal, ad hominem attack by a young person who is trying to impress beyond his means.  Aristotle called it right: ” They have exalted notions, because they have not been humbled by life or learned its necessary limitations.”

The business community has seen the confrontational aspect of the 112th Congress ans has and will throw their backing to the president. And rightly so! We can’t cut and slash our way into growth, just like less taxes will grow jobs.
Both are pure falseness on steroids. They also remember the repeated five occasions where the TEA-GOP-Republican
leadership have held the economy hostage. These current House confrontationalist
should be removed from office in November, this year. The country is drowning in
red ink due to two unfunded wars and Bush Tax give-away to the richest
Americans. The House and Senate leadership have called the president’s budget “dead on
arrival”, as they confront their own confrontational membership. They will try
again to hold the payroll tax and unemployment extension hostage. They load up
any budget hearings with riders and earmarks with unacceptable legislation,
    guaranteeing no passage.

It’s not hypocrisy; it’s simply business. It’s become obvious that Romney is not going to beat Obama, & it’s self-defeating – bad business – for Wall Street players & Big Corporation leaders to find themselves on the outside looking in once Obama is sworn into office again.

It WOULD be hypocrisy if Wall Street & Big Corporations leaders were primarily driven by ideology. But they are not. They are driven by what drives business: profit & growth.

So we are in agreement. But you are falling into the same skewed logic the Republicans have had for the last 3 years.

The National Debt is going up mountain. Democrats are turning the wheel one way and Republicans the other. Both of us want to get off the path we’re on but since we can’t agree, the car just keeps on going.

Don’t you see why your logic fails??

You can’t milk a cow and scramble eggs at the same time.

Democrats proposed 4 trillion in debt reduction. But because we CUT things you liked you rejected it.

    So you are a hypocrite.

Sure, some Republicans voted for McCain/Palin because they approved of Palin. But by your own admission, you were voting for the Vice Presidential nominee while (at least) having doubts about the guy at the top of the ticket.

Pretty rash, if you ask me.

And, anecdotally, most of my Republican friends didn’t think much of Palin.

Cramer may be right, he may be wrong, but let’s remember that he enthusiastically defends John Corzine as a “decent guy” every chance he gets.  So take what he says with a grain of salt.

Hard to decide if its worth wasting an analytical comment on a Corn Holio, but here goes …

Your “quotes” are sound bytes. When read as part of the whole, an intelligent person (doesn’t matter what your political bias might be) would understand the reference as concern for middle America. “Bitter” people? Yeah, he was saying that blue-collar folks are pissed off, and right-wing assholes (like you, maybe) are able to use guns and religion as wedge issues to scare a lot of those folks by claiming that they’re under attack.

You’re either too young or apparently too stupid to have recognized the world of Jim Crow and what a couple hundred years of slavery and government-sanctioned racism did to whole

You know who hates this country?  You do.  Because America stands for a whole lotta things that you aren’t half capable of understanding; AND because we’re blessed with people who understand the enormous changes looming in geopolitics and are trying like hell to keep the U.S. in front of the pack.

But, hey, stick with your pathetic 6th-grade playground taunts.  People of your ilk are lost. Get back to the anger management group and work on that twitch.
