Speaker Paul Ryan sat down with Fox & Friends‘ Brian Kilmeade for an interview that mostly centered around the health care debate on Capitol Hill.
In response to the CBO score saying 22 million more people will be uninsured in 2026, Ryan told Kilmeade, “They’re basically saying… is if you’re not gonna force people to buy Obamacare… then they won’t buy it.”
Kilmeade asked him about pushback from the left on the health care fight in the past, including that infamous ad depicting a Ryan lookalike pushing granny off a cliff.
“I’m so used to this by now,” Ryan said. “I think the left is out of gas. I think they just basically decide resist, resist, resist.”
Kilmeade asked Ryan to grade President Trump. He said Trump is “doing fine,” but he wouldn’t give him a “letter grade.” He simply said that Congress can’t be distracted and should stay focused on getting their agenda done.
