Rep. Allen West Blasts Fellow CBC Member’s Tea Party-Lynching Comment

Video

On Thursday night’s The Factor, host Bill O’Reilly discussed the Congressional Black Caucus’ rhetoric concerning the Tea Party movement. He played an audio clip of a particularly provocative comment made by Indiana Congressman André Carson (D) in which he told an audience in Miami that members of Congress sympathetic to the Tea Party would “love to see you and me… hanging on a tree.”

Oh my. “Now using violent imagery with racial overtones to attack a political group is absolutely un-American,” said O’Reilly. “But Mr. Carson in unrepentant.” He brought on Florida Congressman Allen West, himself a Republican member of the Congressional Black Caucus, who felt “we don’t need that kind of incendiary talk” and he expressed this much in a letter to Missouri Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, chairman to the the Congressional Black Caucus.

O’Reilly’s theory is that such rhetoric is born out of the fear that black voters are not currently interested in re-electing Barack Obama in 2012 and, so, his opposition must be “demonized.” West agreed:

This is nothing but one of the tactics — I believe it’s rule number 13 out of Saul Alinsky‘s Rules for Radicals — where you pick a target, you freeze it, you isolate it, and you begin to attack it. And I think that’s one of the important things they’re trying to do.

Allen West is one of the great “No Minds” of a generation. Adam West would make a better congressman. Who cares what Allen West thinks or for that matter what Bill O’Retard thinks. When it comes to  racism in the 21st century. The mantra is deny it obssesively, accuse the oppressed with being racists, declare yourself the victim, stand above it as beig enlightened, subtley legislate it back into law, cry foul every day and declare states rights are really about states rights. Allen West should be ashamed.

  • Darladoon

    why is this newsworthy?

  • Darladoon

but he *is* single-handedly protecting the everglades from michelle bachmann….

  • Darkchocolate70

A caucus united in one single commonality – skin color.

Imagine the outrage if there was a “congressional white caucus”.

The Congressional Black Caucus needs to disband – it is a racist organization.

  • Darkchocolate70

    Racist.  Go back to cuba.

So because he speaks out against hate speech and dishonesty, he is stupid.

Is he an Uncle Tom too?

Come on, you can tell us.

  • http://twitter.com/BarneyFranken Barney Frankenbama

Actually, no one cares what YOU think, liar. You cant even put a proper sentence together, but yet you call someone else a ’retard’?

But you are right- It definitely must be Allen West and O’Reilly’s fault that Andre Carter is a race baiter.

The CBC has nothing to gain by playing racial politics. Nope, nothing to see here!

  • Anonymous

How sad it is too, he is the ONLY one blasting them.  Obama sits silent while screams of “racism” are raised with ZERO proof or substance; the MSM is silent while the CBC slanders others through lies and misconceptions; and how sad is it that Harry and Nancy just sit back and let their colleagues sully congress with their lies and hissy fits.

The race card has been overpalyed CBC; you lose you bunch of losers.  West is right to resign from this bunch of cry babies, finger pointers, do nothings, and charlatans.

  • http://twitter.com/BarneyFranken Barney Frankenbama

Darladoon is right- this isnt newsworthy because this happens all the time. This type of rhetoric is nothing you wouldnt hear on MSNBC any day of the week.

This is standard operating procedure, page 1 of the democrat party’s racial segregation playbook. His only problem is that his rant was caught on tape.

  • Anonymous

“The Tea Pary wants blacks ‘hanging on a tree’?????

The Left has truly lost it.  They have moved from accusing people who disagree with them of racism to accusing them of lynching.

But you will see more of this garbage.  If you have any doubt, check out the inside scoop from someone who knows:

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/09/01/fineman_dems_tell_me_campaign_will_be_down_and_dirty_attack_on_gop.html

This is the problem when an entire political party runs away from issues and puts all its faith in smears and character attacks.  People start ignoring this garbage, so the left becomes all the more histrionic and over-the-top.

The Democrats still have a chance to appeal to 2012 voters on the basis of issues and ideas.  But if they keep on dishing up this garbage, they will lose by even bigger margins than in 2010.

What is next?  Billdo discussing the limits of sexual harassment?

Andre Carson was one of the Congressional Black Caucus FALSELY accusing Tea Party people of “spitting on” John Lewis and yelling out the “N-word.”

Even though a reward of hundreds of thousands of dollars was offered for proof of said slurs and activities, NO PROOF THAT IT EVER HAPPENED was ever found. Carson lied then and he’s lying now and he is trying to incite violence against the CITIZENS who oppose Barack Obama’s policies, but the media is too cowardly to call him out.

  • http://twitter.com/BarneyFranken Barney Frankenbama

Its takes a real POS to defend these tree hanging comments…and El Jeffy dutifully obliges.

The CBC have been doing everything they can to keep their constituents as poor as possible.  Where do they even find the time to hurl racist accusations?

Selling out black youth for the demand$ of the Teachers Unions that pay for their campaign is hard work!

Not to mention these guys are under ethics investigation:

Roland Burris, Maxine Waters, Jesse Jackson, Jr., Emanuel Cleaver, James
Clyburn, Gregory Meeks, Eddie Bernice Johnson, Sanford Bishop, Eleanor
    Holmes Norton, John Conyers…

They sure know how to make the best of their time.

  • ElJeffyBovido

Rep. Allen West (R-FL) fomented a racial controversy with comments
describing African-American voters’ tendency to support the Democratic
Party as a “21st-Century plantation.” Wednesday, he carried his meme
    even further, telling
Fox News guest host Laura Ingraham that, “I’m here as the modern-day
Harriet Tubman, to kind of lead people on the Underground Railroad, away
from that plantation into a sense of sensibility.” To top it off, West
went on to claim that leaders such as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton,
Barbara Lee or Maxine Waters were the “overseers of this 21st-Century
plantation,” meant to “pacify and keep the black community firmly behind
[white liberals], regardless of the failures of [their] social welfare
    policies.”

Tell us again who is using violent imagery.

  • Norbit

Alan West is a proud, well-respected Individual – not a Race-Pimp! (or overseer, as the case may be)

You are the dumbest person to ever dwell here. The CBC exists today for one reason, to seek special status, treatment and attention to one group of people. Period. They have no interest in fairness, no interest in moral parity, and paradoxically no real interest in doing what is truly best for the people they claim to represent.
They are opportunists first and foremost, they trade on their skin color and heritage for money, fame and power. Politicians are all liars, but these people are actually a few notches lower, as they wallow in the vile stench of racism where none exists. Good for West for calling them out.

In United States politics and government, caucus has several distinct but related meanings. One meaning is a meeting of members of a political party or subgroup to coordinate members’ actions, choose group policy, or nominate candidates for various offices. The term is frequently used to discuss the procedures used by some states to select presidential nominees such as the Iowa caucuses, the first and largest in the modern presidential election cycle, and the only occasionally relevant Texas caucuses.[5] Since 1980 such caucuses have become, in the aggregate, an important component of the nomination process. Because such caucuses are infrequent and complex to organize, there is a practice version called a maucus, a portmanteau of mock caucus.[6][7] Another meaning is a subgrouping of officials with shared affinities or ethnicities who convene, often but not always to advocate, agitate, lobby or to vote collectively, on policy. At the highest level, in Congress and many state legislatures, Democratic and Republican members organize themselves into a caucus (occasionally called a “conference”).[8] There can be smaller caucuses in a legislative body, including those that are multi-partisan or even bicameral. Of the many Congressional caucuses, one of the best-known is the Congressional Black Caucus, a group of African-American members of Congress. Another prominent example is the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, whose members voice and advance issues affecting Hispanics in the United States, including Puerto Rico. In a different vein, the Congressional Internet Caucus is a bipartisan group of Members who wish to promote the growth and advancement of the Internet. Other congressional caucuses such as the Out of Iraq Caucus, are openly organized tendencies or political factions (within the House Democratic Caucus, in this case), and strive to achieve political goals, similar to a European “platform”, but generally organized around

ok, so lets have this debate…

We all know why it won’t be prosecuted, as it would open us up for all sorts repercussions. Much like how if a state prosecutor has been convicted of a crime, any prosecutions he made are now up for an immediate retrial.

If the actions taken in “advanced interrogation” were legal, how come cops cant do it?

If we are found to do the things that some have accused us of, how are we able to prosecute those who have done war crimes?

At the end of the day, do you really give a shit where that guy is? Does it have any bearing on West’s value as a Congressmen?

West did not note a failure. He does not consider it a failure, nor do I. He broke the rules, for damned good reason, and then he immediately admitted it and offered himself up to the consequences of having done it. And then he and his men went home to their families. And then he got a fine, and retired.

The war criminal slur against this man is disgusting. And probably racist.

On edit: I think I misconstrued your question. And I think West hasn’t changed so much as his coverage has, now that he’s in the political arena. I don’t hear anything out of him that strikes me as being at odds with an Army senior officer, particularly one who’s spent years at war.

One man’s “torture” is another man’s “advanced interrogation techniques”. You’re hung up on the word torture. Like I said, if its illegal, then prosecute (cops, CIA, anybody).

I’m not going to do your research for you, but suffice it to say that our govt does have legal documents in place to define where the line is between legal and not legal in regards to what you call ‘torture’, and who is authorized to do what, and they have stood the test of judicial scrutiny (otherwise Rumsfeld just might be in jail).

If a prosecutor is convicted of a crime, then ONLY those cases affected by his behavior are subject to retrial (e.g., Duke lacrosse player prosecutor). Anyone else duly tried and convicted will remain that way.

well that’s the catch isn’t it? I mean its the whole “Who Watches the Watchmen” motif. It just surprises me that those who believe in small government would give this such a huge pass.  Its really why the bill of rights was invented.

As for your point on why haven’t these documents or people been prosecuted yet, it is because no one in the government wants them too.  It would be a huge mess politically and legally.  Eric Holder has gone on record saying he wont look into this because its a big can of worms.

As for the DA comment, that is usually up to the states or lower government.  Plus I do believe some of the rape cases in NC were retried because of that man.

You got the privilege of living in the house if you served the master … exactly the way the master intended to have you serve him. Colin Powell’s committed to come into the house of the master. Since Mediaite “reportedly” reports on the media, where is the story on BSNBC’s Tamron Hall moderating the Town Hall where the lynching comment was made and why BSNBC didn’t report on it or show the video or play the audio?  Of course if this had been anyone else talking about lynching, all of their mouthpieces would have run it ad nauseam and calling for their resignation, which would be appropriate.  Double standards, inconsistencies, and cover-ups, just another day at BSNBC.  Well, I guess we should just be happy that Libs/Progs are only 20% of the population and a dying breed.  Let’s get PETA to start a petition to claim them as an endangered species.

The thing I find most ironic about the left always accusing Republicans (white people) of being racist, is that its totally based on skin color. If you’re black and criticize Obama, nobody is going to call you a racist. Its only if you’re white and criticize him.Personally, I think that’s why Democrats wanted him as president so badly. They wanted another “Teflon” president that would be beyond criticism. They fully planned on using the race card before he was even elected.

Listen up O’Reilly. The LAST and i mean the LAST people who should be demanding civility is the TEA Party. This man Allan West, didn’t he use slavery imagery to score political points? ? Saying that blacks are in the “Democratic plantation” and the CBC members like Waters are nothing but “overseers of that plantation”? ? ?So you condemn Andre Carson’s imagery but it’s ok for West to use slavery references when condemning the Democrats? ? This is what I detest about the fright wing: HYPOCRISY and selective outrage. TP members have compared President Obama and his family to MONKEYS (remember their Orange County official), a tar baby, they routinely called him a “Kenyan Moslem Islamo-fascist socialist communist POS out to destroy America” so don’t lecture us about civility you hypocrites! ! ! Democrats should indeed maintain civil discourse not because the hypocrites at the Tea Party demand it but because it is the right thing to do. God bless the USA and four more for POTUS Obama. Because the alternative is SCARY.

  • Hagen619dj

You didn’t get your facts correct.  Carson is the one blasting the “hanging tree” idea.  He is another Rev. Wright. Another black who wants people to feel sorry for blacks….he’s chasing race baiting again. He is a nitwit!   West did NOT agree with what Carson said.

The Tea Party folk are decent, tax paying folk dressed in shirts with American flags on them and carrying Gadsen flags to protest that which is wrong with a society dominated by a bloated, invasive government, not thugs in all black disguising their faces with bandanas pitching garbage cans at police barriers at the latest financial meeting to protest society itself.  They’re not thugs all wearing the same colored union shirt marching on the private properties of people they wish to intimidate or businesses they seek to wrest extortion money from.  They’re not drum beating protestors in the streets of south western states wearing reconquista propaganda shirts carrying effigies of lawmakers and throwing bottles at police officers.  They’re not flash mobbing Stare Fairs lurking outside in dark clothing and ready to send people to the hospital merely because they hate white people.  They’re almost universally civil and haven’t been, despite all your efforts to do so, negatively characterized by the few infiltrators your side publicly called for.

Asking for civility in action from your political allies is next to pointless – expecting civility in tone from your race-baiting demonizers of hard working Americans, even more so.

The CBC, Congressional Black Caucus, is a collection of “Africanoids.”  A new term that is used to described racist, African Americans.  An “Africanoid can be a public figure or a seemingly average citizen.  However, “Africanoid’s share the common trait of being racist, envious, and continually demanding of more and more concessions from Government, and non-Black society.

The woman talks about more than just genocide in the video, she talks about the break down of the black family, prior to Johnson’s war on poverty that 80% of black children were born into 2 parent households and now that number is less than 10% in our inner cities, she spoke to education and the voucher system that the Obama administration opposed in Washington DC…  she brings up issues that other black conservatives speak to as well, there are many black conservative websites that you can find if you take the time, and the Democratic Plantation is not new, or is it a term exclusively used by Rep. West.

I did not equate the democratic policies to genocide, the woman in the video did, but she makes good poin in rasing an issue, that warrants further discussion.  You may find it interesting that the projected grown in the make up in the minorities in this country from now through 2050 go something like this…  blacks will grow from 12.9% to 13.0% Hispanics from 16.0% to 30.2% and Asians from 4.6% to 7.8%.  Only one of our minority populations is not growing…  now consider the video that I link below…  IMO the results of democratic policies have at least been akin to genocide no matter what their original intent was and considering the video below, there does seem to be an effort aimed at low income mostly African American neighborhoods.

It’s an interesting subject that would take some study. I’ve realize that welfare can create dependency and that people need some motivation as well as opportunity to contribute to society. Im also believe the Dems in DC have been lazy and irresponsible. They want their identity of “helping the poor” and the vote that goes with it, so much they they haven’t looked seriously at the long term consequences. It also makes sense to me that birth control funding might be aimed more at poor communities to prevent the continuing cycle of poverty.
I do have to wonder how the statistics fit with the conservative ideal of personal responsibility. Clearly in the videos you linked to people are anti abortion when they refer to abortion as “killing African Americans”  but that’s another discussion. Why is the unwanted pregnancy rate so high in the AA community, that abortion rates are so high. Aren’t both of those personal choices. Isn’t Birth Control available?  Why are so many AA males impregnating women and then abandoning them and the child? Isn’t that also personal choice? Here’s one view. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/07/24/AR2005072401115.html  If you haven’t seen it find Chris Rock’s comedic and cultural masterpiece “I love black people but I hate Ni****s”  I saw a black comic once talk about racial profiling. “Sometimes we’re so mad about racial profiling that we forget we’re criminals”
I remember when the movie “Boyz and the Hood” was getting so much attention. One of the issues raised was that those AA who did work hard to gain a level of success moved away from the poor areas so positive responsible role models weren’t plentiful. I’m rambling a bit, bit only to say it’s a multifaceted issue. I’ve
learned that while I can’t control what others do, say the Dems in DC
and Planned Parenthood, I am responsible for what I choose and do. I wouldn’t say the answer is to stop abortions , but to stress personal responsibility and change the way welfare works so that it pushes toward work rather than dependency.
The growth rates by race you showed me don’t mean much. Part of that is cultural.
According to stats I looked at the abortion rate for girls 19 and under is declining, while he abortion rate for women 25 and over is climbing.
