We don’t really have direct comparisons in the US, do we? The Republicans were like Nazis in some ways, and the Democrats in some ways, but neither can be called Nazi. The Democrats were like the Soviet Communists in some ways, and the Republicans in some ways, but neither can be called Communist. I think it would be better if we called the Republicans Crackers and the Democrats Ladies and Gentlemen, but some might disagree with that characterization.
