Rep. Ted Poe: Gabrielle Giffords Represents ‘The Spirit Of Bipartisanship’
Texas Republican Rep. Ted Poe took to the floor today to sing the praises of Rep. Gabby Giffords as she prepares to officially resign from her role in order to focus on her continued recovery.
“Mr. Speaker,” he began, “my grandmother used to say that here is nothing more powerful than a woman that has made up her mind. Gabby Giffords has always been that woman. She is compassionate, tenacious and relentless in her love for our country.”
He added that her recovery thus far has been nothing short of a miracle, noting that she represents the “spirit of bipartisanship” and he has enjoyed working with her on border security issues.
