Ron Paul Agrees With Time Choice For Person Of Year…Who Can “Do No Good”
Right after the announcement on NBC’s Today show of Time Magazine’s Person of the Year, Ben Bernanke, NBC’s cable outlet MSNBC had a very appropriate guest.
Rep. Ron Paul – who just wrote the book “End the Fed” – was on set at Morning Joe this morning. He understood the decision by Time.
“If I could pick someone to follow up Rick Stengel’s person of the year pick of Ben Bernanke it would be this guy,” said Joe Scarborough as he introduced Paul.
Here’s his take: “He’s the most powerful man in the world. I believe a case can be made for that.”
More from Rep. Paul:
The big question is has he used that power for good or for evil? Of course, my side of the argument is the system is evil and the chairman, whether it’s Greenspan or Bernanke, they can do no good. They cause our troubles, they cause the inflation, they cause the bubbles and therefore, the bust, the correction, is always their fault.
Strong words, but not unexpected. Paul was just a guest on Neil Cavuto’s Fox News show – look for him to be seen making the media rounds to talk health care as well as Person of the Year and Bernanke. In fact, whoever gets him on Sunday morning will have a good guest.
Another good guest? Rep. Barney Frank, who was asked about the Bernanke pick on MSNBC earlier today. Tonight you’ll see these two – Frank and Paul – go head-to-head about health care (and potentially Time’s pick), tonight on CNN’s Larry King Live.
