I cannot believe the crap she has spewed for over the past two years, and Bill shame on you for backing Sara. Have they not heard of the Treaty of Tripoli! James Madison "Every new & successful example therefore of a perfect separation between ecclesiastical and civil matters, is of importance. And I have no doubt that every new example, will succeed, as every past one has done, in showing that religion & Govt. will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together... We are teaching the world the great truth that Govts. do better without Kings & Nobles than with them. The merit will be doubled by the other lesson that Religion flourishes in greater purity, without than with the aid of Govt."
This is what our founding Four Fathers wanted. You cannot change history and twist the words written by our Presidents. She quoted “ Yay, Welcome to America!” makes her sound like the true moron. She preaches tolerance. What is there to tolerate, the fact that not all people pray to her god, or pray at all? That is not tolerance it is boarder line hatred. All we need is to draw another segregation line between Americans. We do not need another holiday or a day to pray. Thomas Jefferson wrote “Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God…”

America's future rape law

"If a man happens to meet a virgin woman who is not engaged to be married and he seizes her and rapes her but is caught in the act the rapist must pay the girl's father fifty silver shekels she must marry the rapist, because he has violated her. And so long as he lives, he may not divorce her." Deuteronomy 22:29

5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. Matthew 6:5-6

Looks like Sarah Palin does not read the Bible very well.

while i am embarrassed by her ignorance as a woman & appalled by her advocation of violence as an ends to a mean, i am 'STUCK' in a place where i must defend my GOD & RELIGION from frenzied hateful athiests who attack it simply because they know she is a staunch believer & has a christian values 'agenda'...

*shaking head*

whether you don't like palin or not, why does this so easily translate into an attack on religion/god as a whole from the left? i generally consider myself to be a liberal as far as government is concerned but whenever the attacks on religion start, the abject hatred from the 'left' puts me smack in a position where i am disgusted w/the people i have on most other issues, sided with.

hey're quite clear that we would create law based on the God of the Bible and the 10 commandments, it's pretty simple.” I think we should kind of keep this clean, keep it simple, go back to what our founders and our founding documents meant. They're quite clear that we would create law based on the God of the Bible and the 10 Commandments.

Sarah Palin articulates it very well . . . in spite of her detractors who ridicule her and call her names. Liberals are good at doing that. Gracious I guess you would call it because she addresses every issue with rational arguments and sound thought processes. What ever else she does or is to her detractors, you have to like what she did in Alaska. That is her badge of honor and her right to speak to Americans across the political spectrum. The proof of her metal resides in Alaska and I will bet you a dollar to a doughnut Alaskans like it!!

Also, God isn't mentioned ONE SINGLE TIME in our Constitution or Bill of Rights. If the founders wanted to establish a Christian nation you think they would've mentioned Jesus at some point. And no the Bill of Rights aren't based on Christian morals. This is why Sarah Palin and Bill O'Reilly are complete morons.

I guess no one commenting on this video has read the First Amendment in awhile. So, here you go, I've brought it straight to you. The first two clauses are the Establishment Clause and the Free Exercise Clause. Together they are referred to as the Religion Clauses.

"Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

If you would like some more interesting things to research with regard to the separation of church and state, see the following:

1.) The Treaty of Tripoli, 1797, "As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion," 1797

2.) Letter from Thomas Jefferson, 1802, "Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State."

3.) Letter from James Madison, 1822, "And I have no doubt that every new example will succeed, as every past one has done, in shewing that religion & Govt will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together."

I guess Bill O and Sarah never read the 1797 Treaty of Tripoli where in Article 11 the "founding fathers" clearly and unanimously voted that we were in no way founded on the Christian Religion. Why do the fundies wish to rewrite history? There is a legal treaty, passed unanimously by congress, printed in 3 papers of the day with no controversy, that unambiguously states we are NOT a Christian Nation. Is there any other legal document, passed by congress in the early days of our country which states that we are?? Thought not.

@Vcaver

Benjamin Franklin was a Deist, Thomas Paine was an atheist, George Washington may have been a Deist and it's believed that John Adams may have been an atheist.

You'll find that not all or even the majority of the founding fathers weren't Christians but that the most widely and influential known were the least religious or most outspoken against organized religion.

Gouverner Morris of Pennsylvania did most of the actual writing of the constitution, and he was a rational theist, a mixture of deism and Christianity based more on nature than revelation. But what's more important here is that a dumb, irrelevant woman who has no chance of ever holding public office get the left's panties in such a bunch. Now that's entertainment!

Wow!! Palin doesn’t know that the majority if not all, of the Founding Fathers, were deists and NOT Christians. Wow, she has NO idea about what the U.S. Constitution.

Palin, whoa what a MORON.

Don't get me wrong, Michelle, I was very much opposed to the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition as well. All churches fall far, far short from the glory of God, as do all people.

The nation has some obligation to keep churches from acting in such a fashion as to prevent them from denyng others the free exercise.

Now Michelle, would the King ever insult or stereotype anyone he disagrees with? And while the constitution does prohibit establishment of any one religion over another, the term 'separation of church and state' isn't in there. That was Jeffersnon's warning against establishing a religion. I could see it being unfair if someone said, 'Let's make Christianity the national religion'. Palin wasn't saying that. But hey, the left hates her, so let's pretend she did.

" The Constitution grants power and protection to people by limiting the government. " That sentence right there should be continually read to liberals. The growth of govt is out of hand and needs to be limited!

MichelleF says:

I think a lot of liberals are clinging to their “seperation of church and state” talking points, and they don’t even understand what that really means.

---

Actually, I think most of us do, Michelle. The Constitution grants power and protection to people by limiting the government. In this case, it means not allowing the government to make an established order of religion, for example the Church of England, as it once was. A corollary to no establishment is free exercise of belief. The problem with rightists is that they fail to draw a proper line between belief and practice. Polygamy is a very good example of that. Another would be laws prohibiting the wholesale slaughter of "gentiles" to honor good. Mountain Meadow is a good example of that.

You couldn't be more right. It's like the immigration bill, they twist it to support their template and just expect the rest of us to accept it's correct. Maybe their mindless minions will, but those of us with a brain won't

Palin said the national day would champion no one religion over another. But it doesn't matter. Palin said it, so she has to be blasted for it. How dare she mention that the founding fathers believed in God and mentioned him frequently! They were Deists for the most part, not Christians for God's sake! And while we're at it, let's take that offensive "In God We Trust" motto off of our money. How offensive! This is an outrage!

@JZGIRL...what part of the CONSTITUTION supports what you are saying? The only mention of religion in the constitution says that no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification for holding public office.

I think a lot of liberals are clinging to their "seperation of church and state" talking points, and they don't even understand what that really means.

I am no fan of Palin, but the obsession of the left for her is pathetic!
