SNL “Cherry Battle” May Be Weirdest Digital Short Ever

Sometimes, you can tell when the SNL writing staff has been doing drugs. Perhaps the safest bet ever is tonight’s digital short starring Andy Samberg and tonight’s host, Precious star Gabourey Sidibe.* Does it make sense? To someone, probably, at one point — though that does not seem to have included many in the viewing audience. Nonetheless, it is destined to enter the pantheon of viral videos just because it actually is that weird. And for those viewers who are stoned, they’ll love it all the more. So, make sure you know what everyone is talking about and watch this. It’s shorter than Precious.

I agree … sort of …
It’s a really stupid skit.
Imagine yourself trying to do this. My point was, you’ve got to have good acting skills to pull off such stupidity off.
But what do I know? I don’t even have a TV!
And after surfing the net to see what I’m missing, … I don’t have a TV for good reason.
Why waste $125/mo. for such nonsense .. Faux news, MSNBC, SNL, etc …
I must make note however, that it is indeed unfortunate, that because Miss Sibide doesn’t fit Hollywood’s stereotype of “attractive”, this may be the only “part” she’ll ever get on TV.
Even Halle Berry, as attractive as she is, has limited acting opportunities.

I saw the SNL show and wondered what the writes were trying to say with the digital short. The writers or the editors of the short must have lost some of the script pages or the editors cut to much out. This short did not work. I hope they have her back on another show with better writing.
