What it needs is for David Brinkley to rise from the dead. Ted Coppel hosting would have been close to that. Seriously though. One thing that has been lacking in Stephanopolous's show was the gravitas that Brinkley brought. I remember watching him, and was reminded of this when I saw a video of This Week With David Brinkley. The whole show was about the Berlin wall falling. Only Brinkley could talk to a not so young Peter Jennings and have Jennings act like a cub reporter on his first assignment. Ted Coppel would have had similar credentials and journalistic credibility. Where as stephanopolous is perceived as not 100% neutral and not a journalist in the least.
