The New York-born Blige, wearing a World Series jacket and a Yankees jersey, said: "I have never done it before, so I'm kind of nervous.
"But I'm mostly excited because this is my hometown. I was born in Fordham Hospital [New York] in the Bronx, so I'm just happy that [the Yankees] picked me to do this."

Was THAT the point? That the Yankees are bad because they pay more for their players... but you couldn't come out and say that directly, because it has NOTHING TO DO with the goals of this site, so you had to link it to media. But you couldn't find a strong enough way, and would up with some convoluted nonsense centered around the number 56? Really?

Yikes.

www.espn.com I think they talk about this kind of stuff there... just without the goofy pretext.

so - I take it that you think its fair that the Yankee's have a payroll far greater than their competition?

With all due respect, Robert... this was dumb.

When I started reading, I thought you were going to make real comparisons... but just comparisons based upon 56%. That's just silly.

Yankees/Phillies to Vogue/Self should have been about operating costs... same with FNC/ABCF.
Yankees/Phillies to Facebook/Myspace should have been about fan strength, how many people on average attend the games, and the average television ratings they get for one of their games.

I dunno... maybe I'm missing the humor, but there's a lot to compare if you're just looking for two entities that are 56% apart from each other... but not a lot of relevance.
