Travel Channel’s Anthony Bourdain Calls Tea Partiers ‘Very Angry White People’

Anthony Bourdain hosts a food and travel show called No Reservations on the Travel Channel. Friday he joined CNN’s Candy Crowley, conservative rock star Ted Nugent and AC 360 host Anderson Cooper to discuss political issues of the day. Known for his candor, Bourdain did not disappoint in his frank assessment of the Tea Party movement, labeling those involved “very angry white people.”

When asked by Cooper if he’d ever attended a Tea Party, Bourdain responed: “You know, I was just reading “Hellhound on His Trail,” a book about the assassination of Dr. King and about…particularly about the Wallace for president campaign in California back then. And you’re looking at, I think, at basically the same demographic: a lot of marginal, very angry white people.” He then admitted, as a proud liberal, that he was actually pleased with how he expects the Tea Party movement to affect the coming elections. “They’re insuring that no reasonably electable Republican will be President. They’re taking over the party in a way that makes them look more or less crazy.”

I guess I’m one of those marginal, angry white guys… hey Bourdain, get back in the kitchen. Nothing is more marginal than a smug, angry liberal, condescending, arrogant white guy who racially profiles the movement of a largely higher educated class of individuals who care about their country.

What’s new. Libs calling the Tea-Partiers racist, murdering mobs. I think Ted Nugent should take this guy hunting and show him what a real man looks like!

  • Liberty – Not Redistribution

Yeah because urging ones government to live within its limits, balance their check book, stop wasting tax payer dollars is “angry.” Hey, I guess we should just be happy that the amount of money the US government (actually it’s the taxpayers money) spends on interest payments alone to our debt holders will be the 4th largest expenditure.

Yeah we are just “racist” for think that is crazy.

    And Anthony Bourdain is who?

    Just another hate spewing lib.

Gotta love how the left is always so outraged at stereotyping, yet they begin so many sentences with “White people…(put derogatory description here)… and they never make the connection.

  • germ

I guess he’s never watched his own show on the Travel Channel. That is one angry white man.

  • errxn

I really hate the fact that I like his TV show so much. It really is a great show, despite the fact that 90% of the time, he’s quite the arrogant ass.

Bourdain is a heavy smoker. It has screwed with his brain.
There is no such thing as “The Tea Party”. Anyone can claim that they are part of the tea party. There is no national organization. There is no national membership or dues.
Different people have started many tea parties in every state. Some are democrats, some are republicans, some are libertarians and some are independents. They have a lot of different views. The media wants to piegon hole them into one group where they pick out some people that have views the media claims are extreme.
The views they all agree on are less government, less spending and no socialized medicine. Those are the views that will bring down Obama and the democrat party. That is MAINSTREAM.

The following is from the most accurate polling group in the country.
Following passage of health care, enthusiasm for the president among Democrats soared. Today, however, just 49% of Democrats Strongly Approve of Obama’s performance. That’s down from a high of 65%. It remains to be seen whether this is a temporary aberration or the beginning of a lasting change.
Sixty-three percent (63%) of voters nationwide favor repeal of the health care law. That’s the highest level of support for repeal yet measured.

Anthony, you could have just said “No” and not made the ass out of yourself like you did.

Thankfully, Anthony was there for comedy relief.

Bourdain is so full of BS! Just what I would expect to hear from the mouth of someone who admits to eating warthog rectum!

I laugh every time these liberal blowhards bring up MLK. What does he know about the average American? The only people Bourdain comes into contact with are those rich celebrity idiots he serves in his restaurants.

  • tiredofbs

Well, another show off my DVR list..Bu-bye Tony.. Fool
Another Li bDouch in my dust bin.
I knew he was a Liberal, but to outright disrespect & take
for granted his non Liberal audience, leaves me w/ no choice..
I will send out E-mail lists w/this new development hoping Bourdain
will be back on a binge & out of work again soon.

What’s not to be angry about, Tony?

  • TCinAZ

Dix·ie·crat: A dissident Southern DEMOCRAT ; specifically : a supporter of a 1948 presidential ticket OPPOSING the civil rights stand of the Democrats.

Next. “I’ll have those ni**ers voting Democratic for the next 200 years.” – So, Who Said It, Tony?

Here’s a Hint. He Wasn’t a “RACIST!!” Tea Party Member Or a Republican. LOL! Oh, but I’m Sure that “he would’ve been Today “if”…” Right? LOL!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrBus8ORR78

Nope. It wasn’t Don “Fowlup” who said it. His was just Another Heartfelt, Democrat, “We Sho’ Do Loves Us Them Black Folks” Classic, when Dems Don’t Know that the camera and/or microphone is On. DOH!

You Progressives understand That, don’t you? It’s the hidden camera version of your “I Don’t Feel No Ways Tired To (CAW! CAW!) Patronize You! I Come TOO FAR… ”

    So. Ya’ Give Up?

Ok. It was LBJ who said it and who, btw, should Not to be confused with our First Black President, Billy Jeff “Busy D”ck” Clinton.

That’s Lyndon Baines Johnson. Yet Another Democrat and also Another HUGE Fan of “The Darkies”.

Btw, I wonder if Tony’s gonna do a White Guilt-Riddled Charity Dinner for Progressives after the November Elections?

Funny… some of the people calling those in the TEA party “…very angry white people…” are themselves…very angry white people. Projection?

The boy sure can russell up some damn good grub, though.

Yes, Bourdain, and your choice of Obama shows such intellectual prowess on your part. What a joke! The irony in Bourdain criticizing the Tea Party participants, is that it’s hard to find a more angry White man than Bourdain!  Look in the mirror –   man, this guy is funny – because he is such a blatant hypocrite.
