Um, Forget Anybody? CNN Story On Political Sex Scandals Makes Significant Omission: Eliot Spitzer

Oops. In a story on political sex scandals that aired on CNN Newsroom Tuesday, Suzanne Malveaux made mention of a long list of high-profile sex scandals, from the currently unfolding Schwarzenegger-Shriver story all the way back to John F. Kennedy. The story made mention of John Edwards, Larry Craig, Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich.

The story, which aired around 2:30 p.m. ET, included Jim McGreevey, the New Jersey governor forced from office amid a sex scandal, but somehow failed to find time for Eliot Spitzer, the New York governor forced from office amid a sex scandal. Spitzer, you might recall, currently works as the host of In the Arena, a political roundtable show airing on, yes, CNN. Coincidence?

TVNewser’s Chris Ariens, who first reported the story, cited sources claiming the omission was not a leave-Spitzer-out mandate:

We’ve learned the producer/editor on the story, who use their own judgment on what to use and what not to use, chose not to include Spitzer in the story.

CNNPolitics.com has a slideshow of 17 recent political sex scandals. On it, Spitzer is #10.

  • BatBoy

Just another example why CNN has absolutely NO credibility!

  • WCinWI

    Unexpected? Not really.
Did anyone see it? Not many.

Bigger fish to fry in the media world. :)

What passes as “Fair and Balanced” in the lamstream socialist fake-news media:

CNN’s story on political sex scandals DID NOT MENTION one notable pervert: Client #9, Eliot Spitzer
Coincidentally, Spitzer is the host of CNN’s 7pm show “In the Arena.”

It’s is any wonder why the c(lowns)n(itwits and socialist)n(attering nabobs) network is ALWAYS in the ratings toilet?

  • Moderate

This would be the equivalent of Fox calling out politicians who flagrantly make shit up, but leaving out Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin, and so on.

Another CNN lie! Everyone knows Spitzer is Client #9, not #10!

  • TfT

CNN didn’t use Elliot because CNN is a bunch of liars. By excluding him and protecting him they make themselves into fools.

Poor disgraced democrat governor sex pervert client number nine, host (yup, hear that HOST) of the 8pm prime time hour on CNN.

bwahahaha; just such poor judgement that it makes the entire network unwatchable.

Man, what hooker wouldn’t want THAT face coming at her with ill intent! His wife looks like she’d already had enough.

I must have missed the part where they mentioned Teddy Kennedy.

Good story, Mark. The mix of stories today was excellent — a variety of views, topics, with a good balance between entertainment and serious stuff. Well done!

Well at like 6 this morning I saw CNN air a segment including Spitzer briefly listing him as a cnn host right before the likes of Tiger Woods and other celebrities and icons who have had affairs and such. Interesting placement cnn.
