Watch Shocking Video Of A Tornado Ripping Through Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Major storms currently tearing through the South, with a tornado touching down in Alabama’s Tuscaloosa County and elsewhere. The number of deaths due to the storm is not currently known, although local authorities have issued an estimate of 12, possibly 13. In addition, 5 deaths have been reported in Mississippi and one in Arkansas.
Hundreds of thousands are currently without power.
CNN has an ongoing liveblog tracking tornadoes and their resulting damage.

Update II: All three units at Alabama’s Browns Ferry nuclear plant tripped after losing outside power to the plant at around 5:30 EST this evening, and diesel engines are currently supplying power for the plant’s safety system.
