Major storms currently tearing through the South, with a tornado touching down in Alabama’s Tuscaloosa County and elsewhere. The number of deaths due to the storm is not currently known, although local authorities have issued an estimate of 12, possibly 13. In addition, 5 deaths have been reported in Mississippi and one in Arkansas.

Hundreds of thousands are currently without power.

CNN has an ongoing liveblog tracking tornadoes and their resulting damage.

Update II: All three units at Alabama’s Browns Ferry nuclear plant tripped after losing outside power to the plant at around 5:30 EST this evening, and diesel engines are currently supplying power for the plant’s safety system.

The tornados have hit Tuscaloosa and Knoxville. God hates the SEC, not gays. If he hated gays it would have wiped out Gainesville atleast (Tim Tebow).

The low end estimates of the “killer”earthquake in Haiti is 170,000… Current estimates of the death toll in the “killer” tornadoes are close to 100… Equating the two places a value of 1700 Haitians to one American Southerner… All while calling our American President a maggot… You are diminished to the point of being unfit for democracy.

Seriously? Do people even have hearts anymore? I have a question for you.. Do you have a place to sleep tonight? Is your home still all in one piece? Is your power still on? Are there trees blocking the roads around you? Better yet are you alive? Are all your friends and families still safe? You have no idea what we’ve gone through today! You’ve probably never even seen a tornado! And I pray you never have to go through something like this! You seriously make me so thankful to be a southerner though. Because instead of being hateful and negetive, everyone is THANKING GOD for what they do still have.

And as for everyone else.. We DON’T hate gays, and neither does God. These are the silliest posts I’ve ever seen! For those of you who do care.. Please be praying for the families who have lost anything in these storms today!!

Global Warming are going to create more violent and frequent storms. Carbon Dioxide is currently over 392 parts per million, which is well over the 350 safe level mark.

lovethislife, I’m on the Gulf Coast and I feel your pain. As you know, we get some pretty bad weather down here from time to time. And as you say, I couldn’t care less whether or not someone is gay.
