Outnumbered Panel Gets in Heated Debate Over Trump’s Personal Finance Investigations
Kudos to the bookers of Fox News’ Outnumbered, for today they had on as a guest and featured panelists individuals that made for a spicy and reasonably well-informed debate over the personal finances of President Donald Trump and the litany of Congressional and Justice Department investigations.
Fox & Friends’ Brian Kilmeade played the part of the “one lucky guy” and brought his well-honed pro-Trump A-game, while Jessica Tarlov was also booked, which almost always makes for a more interesting show because of the debates and discussions her unique point of view often brings to a show that can sometimes tilt into a self-contained echo chamber zone.
At issue in this segment is Sen. Lindsey Graham’s public advice that Donald Trump, Jr. ignore a congressional subpoena, and the great desire expressed by Democratic caucus members to have Robert Mueller publicly testify.
Kilmeade parroted the president’s perspective that this and investigations into his personal finances are nothing but harassment designed to publicly damage Trump’s reputation and keep him on the defense.
But Tarlov made the salient point that we all know that Trump’s finances are complicated (or as she said, “tricky”) and the investigations are reasonable oversight efforts to ensure the President is personally profiting from the office he holds, and that diplomatic and policy decisions are in the best interest of the United States and not just Trump’s bottom line.
