John Kerry Curiously Cites Toga Parties As Proof Of Close US-Italy Relationship
During a State Department luncheon in which Secretary of State John Kerry and Vice-President Joe Biden hosted Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, Kerry strangely referenced college toga parties as proof of our close ties to Italy.
“Visit any college campus on a Friday night and you’ll see a toga party,” the former presidential candidate said at the podium.

Outside of believing today’s university campuses are just like what was portrayed in Animal House, it should also be noted that the tradition of toga parties relates to Greek life and fraternities. But, since Romans wore togas, it’s all good, I guess.
Renzi will be meeting with President Obama later this evening for an official state dinner, the last one of Obama’s tenure.
