A new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released Monday finds that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is now beating her Republican rival Donald Trump by double-digits.
46% of likely voters say they support Clinton for president, compared to only 35% for Trump. Third-party candidates Gary Johnson and Jill Stein bring up the rear with 9% and 2%. Clinton’s eleven-point lead is almost double from the last NBC/WSJ poll, which found her up by six points.
Clinton’s lead gets even larger when voters are asked about a two-man race. Without Johnson or Stein, Clinton beats Trump 52% to 38%.
The big caveat is that the poll was taken before Sunday night’s debate, so it remains unclear how the candidates’ performances may have moved the needle. But the poll was taken after the Friday release of the lewd Trump hot mic audio and the WikiLeaks’ release of Clinton’s campaign manager’s hacked emails.
