Jake Tapper’s latest cartoon segment on his Sunday show compared President Donald Trump to the fictional tyrants and rulers of the hit HBO series Game of Thrones, which has its final episode airing Sunday night.
In Sunday’s “State of the Cartoonion,” Tapper narrated comparing Trump to various characters in the series like Cersei Lannister and Daenerys Targaryen, who shocked audiences in last week’s episode by becoming “The Mad Queen” and burning the city of King’s Landing with the help of her dragon.
Tapper’s narration also notes A Song of Ice and Fire series author George R.R. Martin, whose book series provides the basis for the show, has compared Trump’s temperament to the tyrant king Joffrey Baratheon.
“Game of Thrones, like President Trump, clearly has a suspicion about political elites who are corrupt, such as the Lannisters or stuck in their ways such as the Starks or corruptible hypocrites, such as Khalessi,” Tapper referring to Daenerys Targaryen.
Tapper ended the segment narrating “And the whole show, like the presidential race, is about who will rule and how ruthless they’re willing to be.”
