Things got awkward real fast when French comedian and weather girl Ornella Fleury tried to make a joke about Jonah Hill‘s sex appeal while interviewing him and Miles Teller for their movie War Dogs.
She started the joke by telling Hill that she has a “fantasy” about him. The audience laughed, and she said, “All I said is ‘sexual fantasy,’ and you guys laugh. Guess I don’t need to finish the joke.” Good idea.
She continued anyway. “It’s that me and you find ourselves in a hotel bedroom one night, we’re talking, you’re making me laugh, and then all of a sudden your pals [Leonardo] Di Caprio and Brad Pitt walk in, and you leave.”
Hill wasn’t laughing. He gave the camera a weak thumbs up and said, “I’m glad I came on this show to get ridiculed by your local weather girl.”
He subsequently canceled the rest of his War Dogs press events in France. According to Us Weekly, Fleury issued a televised apology, saying
Jonah, the problem is that for 10 years I have lived with you through your films. In fact, Jonah, I really had the impression that I knew you, so last Friday I thought I was just messing around with a friend, but the reality is that we are not friends. No, the reality is that you have two Oscar nominations and I have two videos on my YouTube account. You have made films with [Martin] Scorsese and [Quentin] Tarantino and me, I have made an advert for Spontex.
Hill has not responded to the apology at this point.
