Rick and Morty Star Justin Roiland Prank Calls Joel Osteen’s Church: ‘I Have Lots of Money’
Pastor Joel Osteen and his Houston mega church recently seized headlines across America after initially refusing Hurricane Harvey victims — so Rick and Morty star Justin Roiland decided to jump into the controversy.
During a recent appearance on the Ethan and Hila Klein’s H3 Podcast, Roiland staged a prank call to Lakewood Church’s prayer line while playing character Rick Sanchez from his hit cartoon series. Even though he stars in a show known for wackiness, Roiland’s prank somehow went even crazier than you’d expect.
His initial trolling involved requesting to speak to the mega Church pastor so he could get a very important prayer “off his chest,” adding “I have lots of money” — a jab at Osteen’s ridiculous wealth.
However, the prank went off the rails when the Church member who answered the call began speaking in tongues and vividly chanting, “the blood of Jesus.” She proceeded to go on a lengthy, garbled rant.
“Are you talking in tongues right now? Is that Klingon? Is that baby talk?” Asked a confused Roiland — who appeared to be getting much more than he bargained for in the prank.

The call — equal parts hilarious and strange — was done in the name of charity, as Roiland joined the show to raise funds for Harvey victims, managing over $125,000 for Direct Relief.
