Anthony Bourdain Snags Publishing Deal For Mission Chinese Book

Late last year, Anthony Bourdain was recruited by publishing company Ecco (under HarperCollins) to “trend-spot” three to five new authors every year and extend publishing deals to them on behalf of the company. And, now, hot on the heels of Danny Bowien‘s Mission Chinese opening in New York, Tony has secured a book deal with the resto.

“I actually don’t care what they do; I just want to do business with them,” he told GrubStreet of the tome’s genre. “These are people who have something to say, and whatever that is, I want to be associated with it.”

Talk about a glowing review. He added — after proudly declaring, “I’m publishing those guys!” — that both he and Echo are “very, very, very happy” to roll out the book, which Bourdain guessed would come out sometime next year.

No details yet on what form the book will take but with the one-two punch of Bourdain and Bowien, we’re already reeling.
