So maybe Beat The Chefs — a new show that looks like a cross between Throwdown with Bobby Flay and Iron Chef — is far, far less absurd-sounding than the premise of Time Machine Chefs. But this new Game Show Network show is, like, the umpteenth new cooking competition that’s been announced since our website launched just over two months ago.
Yes, the premise pits amateurs against professional chefs as they cook the same dish against each other to be tasted by a panel of judges (restaurant critic Brad Johnson, food writer Christy Jordan, and a random Celebrity Judge). But the
Iron Game Show Chefs look interesting! We’ve got Antonia Lofaso from Top Chef: All Stars, Jeff “Homeboy At The Bellagio” Henderson, and Beau MacMillan from the Food Network’s Worst Cooks In America, who knows a thing or two about beating amateur chefs at their own game.
Beat The Chefs premiers on Thursday, August 23rd at 9 PM EST.
