We know Richard Rosendale, captain of Team USA at this year’s Bocuse d’Or competition, has long-since been in training to become the culinary Batman we desperately need. (The highest Team USA has ever placed in the culinary Olympics is a dreadful sixth. SIXTH.)
We even know that Paul Bocuse himself commanded his former protege Daniel Boulud to recruit Thomas Keller to train Rosendale, in an effort to bolster US chances of making it to the podium this year.
But here’s the video footage we’ve been waiting for, from Thomas Keller’s house-turned-training-facility, to Rosendale’s own training facility, housed in a West Virginia nuclear bunker, which features an exact replica of the kitchen in which they’ll be competing in France, down to the utensil, and actual audio footage of the crowd noise from previous competitions piped in to simulate the distraction levels.
