Besides the fact that she eats everything presented to her without complaint and never comments on the caloric consequences of anything, do you know what we love about GMA host Lara Spencer? The woman isn’t afraid to aggressively season. She’s somewhat incredulous, perhaps, that she gets to throw a whole quarter cup of salt into a bag of brisket “to taste,” but she happily dumps it in, along with a fistful of pepper to prep the meat for Carla Hall’s Chili Con Carla, which can be found in The Chew’s new cookbook. Cue giggly meat massages.
The Chew: Food. Life. Fun. was released yesterday, and, in celebration, Carla and Daphne Oz showed up to GMA this morning with two of the book’s autumn-friendly recipes in tow. To follow up Carla’s chili, Daphne whipped up a coconut pecan poundcake for dessert. Needless to say, Josh Elliott was on the scene, and the dishes were hits all around.
