In her post-fame-and-fortune-acquiring life, Carla Hall is stressed because she’s busy. Between celeb chefdom, Top Chef: All-Star alumni status, and hosting ABC’s The Chew, girl’s got a packed schedule. But before Top Chef, she was just as busy and stressed out, plus she was barely making it running a teeny tiny catering company. Just as she was reaching the end of her rope, she attended a spiritual class, and received some wise, soothing words from a minister there.
Sadly, he did not baptize her Lioness Carla Hall. Or even Hootie Lion. Says Carla:
“Around that time, the stress was piling up. I remember thinking, ‘I can’t do it. I can’t go on.’ This was on a Tuesday. I went to a spiritual class the next day, and my minister—I hadn’t said anything—told me, ‘You’re done with the worst of it. You’re going to be better.'”
And better she was. Her fellow Top Chef: All-Star alum Richard Blais even called her the most successful Top Chef contestant of all time. Personally, we really wish she had visited some Rastafarian priests in Jamaica for spiritual enlightenment and a sassy new moniker. Ah, well. Different strokes.
