Jose Andrés is opening a restaurant in Hudson Yards, an upcoming development definitely not managed by Donald Trump. This will be his second New York City opening, the first of which he announced in July, and will be part of a restaurant collection curated by Thomas Keller.
Hudson Yards is enormous, coming in at 28 acres and developed by Related Companies is going to be a city in itself, boasting NYC’s first Neiman Marcus as well as lots of other shopping as well as some apartments. The entire development is set to be finished in 2024, and Andrés’s restaurant will open in 2018.
Andrés is often credited with bringing tapas to the United States, and currently he owns restaurants in Washington D.C., Beverly Hills, Las Vegas, South Beach, and Dorado, Puerto Rico. He’s won two James Beard awards, has defeated Bobby Flay in Iron Chef America, and in 2010 he was a Top Chef judge.
His first restaurant in NYC will be The Bazaar and is opening in the new SLS hotel at 444 Park Ave. South. It is set to open in the summer of 2016.
