Lady Chef News: Announcing Cherry Bombe, A New Food Mag Run By Ladies, Celebrating Ladies

This totally makes up for Eva Longoria’s hideously offensive lady steak restaurant. Graphic designer Claudia Wu and restaurateur Kerry Diamond met while they were both working for Harper’s Bazaar in 2001, and now, they’ve joined forces to launch a brand new food magazine called Cherry Bombe.

The bi-annual mag seeks to celebrate women and food with its first issue dropping this May, and celebrate women it does. Every single food industry member featured is a woman, from Gabrielle Hamilton in the inaugural “Tastemakers” issue, to a profiled Tennessee BBQ lady pit master.

We don’t know quite how we feel about model Karlie Kloss on the cover of Issue #1, daintily licking cookie dough off her fingers in an apron (why isn’t that pit master on the cover, chowing down on ribs and slathered in BBQ sauce?), but we can’t wait to get our hands on it when it comes out.

Cherry Bombe has also set up a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds, with all sorts of fun incentives for donation. If you’re going to spend $18 an issue, you might as well cough up $20 for the Kickstarter and get your first issue for free.
