NYC Department Of Health Shuts Down Magnolia Bakery On Valentine’s Day
On Valentine’s Day, women across New York City (and possibly the Sex And The City–watching world) cried out in mourning, for the Department of Health shut down the famed Magnolia Bakery’s Bleecker Street location after the famous cupcake shop failed its latest health inspection.
Eater NY learned this devastating news from tipsters, who noted that a man was posted in front of the door to prevent crazed cupcake women from smashing the windows and stealing as many cupcakes as they could fit into their knockoff Birkins. Health records on the City’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene website confirm that the restaurant, inspected right on Valentine’s Day, had been forced to close after inspection.
However, all is not lost, for a worker tells them that they hope to be up and running by this weekend. Unfortunately, a cupcake three days after Valentine’s Day doesn’t count anymore and why don’t you care and you’re the worst boyfriend ever!
