PBS expertly picked up Mind of a Chef for a second season, following its 2013 James Beard Award for Outstanding TV Program on Location, and while narrator Anthony Bourdain and host David Chang shared an undeniably special chemistry during Season 1, it’s time for a makeover.
Bourdain is back to narrate, of course, and ZPZ is still the production company handling the keeping-things-pretty aspects. But this season will feature all-new hosts! On board for Season 2 are none other than 2013 Outstanding Chef nominee Sean Brock and 2013 Best Chef: NYC nominee April Bloomfield. How stoked are we to see a lady chef co-hosting? So stoked. Especially one as rad as April. They’ll split the season, with Sean taking the first eight episodes, and April taking the second eight.
Says show Executive Producer Chris Collins in a press release:
“It’s our privilege to be working with two incredibly talented and driven chefs this season…With Sean we plow headfirst into his world of true Southern cuisine — from long lost seeds and crops in the lowlands of South Carolina to rice fields in Senegal. April is marching us from the Pacific Northwest to Birmingham, England, tracing culinary tradition, instinct and obsession — from cops to curries to clams. This is going to be an amazing season of food and ideas.”
