Ming Tsai and Ken Oringer are throwing their support into The One Fund, started by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Mayor Tom Menino to help the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings, with a massive fundraiser in Fenway Park. In other news, that was the most Boston-ish sentence we have ever written.
Also, Oringer and Tsai organized this massive event — which will showcase over 100 chefs, including national, one-name figures like Mario and Todd, as well as local favorites like Tiffani Faison, Joanne Chang, and Jody Adams — in two weeks. Wicked.
In a press release, Oringer called Boston Bites Back an opportunity to showcase the city’s burgeoning culinary scene, by placing it in the hub of The Hub: “Nothing speaks more to our collective resolve than an evening of hospitality, unity and hometown pride in one of the most iconic venues in Boston — Fenway Park.”
Boston Bites Back is tomorrow night, starting at 6:00 PM, and tickets are still available online. All proceeds will go towards supporting victims of the bombing, and Oringer and Tsai hope to raise $1 million.
Epilogue: As a Dorchester native, I appreciate the chefs featuring this song on the event’s website. Cliche? Yes. Wonderfully affirming? Always.
