Infinitely more fun-sounding that foam parties of the early aughts, Dave Arnold is throwing a PUFF PARTY on behalf of the Museum of Food and Drink, a venture he’s attempting to get off the ground via Kickstarter.
The MOFAD would be every bit as cool as dino, space, and fish museums (also known as aquariums) but would feature awesome, historic, innovative food exhibits — like its first one: “BOOM! The Puffing Gun and the Rise of Breakfast Cereal,” which will go live in pop-up form this August across New York, if they can raise the proper funds.
If you donate $400, you snag an invite to the Puff Party on August 13th, which will feature demonstrations of the puffing gun (which, to be honest, looks hideously unsafe, but danger is awesome, right? Right.) by the following celebrity chefs, using ingredients of their choice: Cesare Casella (Salumeria Rosi), Wylie Dufresne (wd~50 and Alder), Brooks Headley (Del Posto), Anita Lo (Annisa), Nils Norén (French Culinary Institute), and Andy Ricker (Pok Pok NY). Dave Arnold (also of Booker & Dax fame) will be serving up cocktails, because of course.
We’d cough up the $400 just to see how this thing goes live in a crowd without taking out several eyes. You could also just donate here.
