The case against Nigella Lawson’s former assistants is closed, and they’ve been acquitted of stealing nearly £700,000 from she and her ex-husband Charles Saatchi. But in the wake of the trial revealing that Nigella used drugs on a handful of occasions, an investigation into her cocaine use is apparently underway, including the involvement of social services for the allegations that she smoked pot in front of her children. Said Nigella through her PR rep in her first public statement since the trial:
“The past months have been extremely difficult, but I am looking forward to getting back to work and to looking after my family. I will survive this and move forward. I just want to focus on my family life and my work.
Check out GMA’s legal analysis of the case, starring some food site’s founder Dan Abrams lodging himself firmly with #TeamNigella, per the money quote: “This is an outrage.”
