We’d flip out if we were restaurant owners and got a request from a customer for our waitresses to “show more skin,” and we applaud Daniel McCawley, the owner of Atomic Grill in Morgantown, West Virginia, for responding to such blatant sexism with a cheeky but effective response. His waitresses’ll show you more skin, all right: potato skin.
“It was brutish,” McCawley said of the UrbanSpoon review (now deleted). “I was upset. I’m a father of a 12-year-old girl and I’ve got five sisters. The way that women are treated is pretty personal as far as I’m concerned.”
And his solution was ingenious. From Good Morning America:
McCawley took action by giving the customer exactly what he or she asked for: more skin. From now through Memorial Day, Atomic Grill will be offering a potato skin special for $7, and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the West Virginia Foundation for Rape Information Services.
“We took offense to the review and wanted to flip it in a positive way,” McCawley explained.
HIGH FIVE TRUE LOVE FOREVER, MCCAWLEY.
