Rio’s Most Exclusive Dinner Reservation Is Not at a Restaurant

Andrew Zimmern‘s new show Driven By Food premieres next week, and, in pretty much perfect timing with the 2016 Summer Olympics, the episode takes place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The concept of the show stems from the idea that if you want to know the best things to eat, drink and do, you should ask a local cab driver.

In Rio, a taxi driver directs Zimmern to the most exclusive table in town at the home of chef Tia Léa. She runs the entire restaurant out of her house, serves 15-20 people per night, and she chooses her own menu. Celebrities love it (she has a few pictures with Snoop Dogg in the house), and you need a reservation to get in. She and Zimmern cook and oxtail stew with watercress that looks delicious, even if oxtail isn’t your jam.

Driven by Food premieres Tuesday, August 16th at 9:00pm.
