All signs point to yes.
The West Coast is a flutter with rumors of season 13 (HOW ARE WE AT SEASON 13?!) of Top Chef filming in San Diego. Turns out the network has been in talks with San Diego’s tourism board to possibly “finalize” “a California-focused series that would spotlight multiple cities,” reports U-T San Diego. Said spokesperson Jennifer Sweeney to U-T San Diego, “Nothing is final, but we’ve been talking to producers since 2010 about bringing a full season to California but we’re not quite there yet.”
Producers are set to visit San Diego last week to scout the location; as the tourism board mentioned to U-T San Diego, it makes perfect sense to shoot there. Fresh West Coast cuisine? Baja, Mexico influences? Seafood? Craft beer? (Is that only important to a craft beer nerd like ourselves?) Ooooh, we may actually watch this season!
(And maybe it goes without saying that there are no teamsters in California. Just surfers, we think.)
