Spike Mendelsohn stopped by The Today Show this morning following Eric Ripert’s appearance (laughs on laughs on laughs) to demo such seasonal dishes as pumpkin marshmallow shakes and turkey burgers topped with brie and caramelized onion on cinnamon raisin toast. Did you know marshmallows and cinnamon raisin toast are super in season right now?
But before Spike could start cooking, Al Roker grilled him on why he thinks the Life After Top Chef crew is so hard on him on the show.
“I don’t know, maybe [they’re] just a little bit jealous?” Spike replied. “They’re hating, although I feel like I’m behaving on the show. I’m doing pretty good.”
Richard Blais is so obviously jealous of Spike Mendelsohn, it’s uncomfortable. Richard and his liquid nitrogen tanks, his super trendy Atlanta restaurant at which the stars of The Hunger Games hang out, and his beautiful family just wish they had thought to put a turkey/brie/onion burger on cinnamon toast. It’s painful, really, how badly they wish it.
