Treme, the HBO show about life in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, starts its third season on September 23. In anticipation of the new season, HBO has released a trailer, and it promises jazz, crime, food envy and a whole lot of drama. Count us in.
Of course, the storyline we’re most concerned with is that of Janette, the chef played by Kim Dickens, who spent last season working in New York for the likes of Eric Ripert and David Chang. Her arc is partly written by Anthony Bourdain, which gives it a sense of culinary realism, though there appears to be no sign of the “spiral of depression and kung fu violence” that Bourdain has joked about in the past. It looks like season 3 will make for some very good television.
