Occasionally, a Top Cheftestant gets all their ducks lined up in an adorable little row and manages to open their own restaurant. This is such a rare feat — so rare, in fact, that there’s a television show dedicated to the restaurant-less masses — that every time a cheftestant opens up a restaurant, Toby Young shuts up for five full minutes.
The latest is Leah Cohen, who smartly teamed up with the highly successful Fatty Crew to open Pig and Khao on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. This video from Zagat is probably the closest thing that Cohen is going to get to an overly personal, exploitative television show about her life opening the restaurant, which, given that stuff that happened in that season, is probably for the best. Congratulations on resisting the urge to famewhore, Leah! It’s a pretty strong urge.
