WATCH: Mario Batali Is the First Chef Ever on Late Night with Seth Meyers

Last night, Mario Batali became the first chef ever on the new Late Night with Seth Meyers, putting the new host to the ultimate test of Can He Make Cooking Segments Fun on Late Night? (It’s not the easiest task, given time constraints.)

Batali is an old pro at this game, but Meyers added a twist: not only did he bring Colin Hanks up to serve as a sous, he also brought in Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen to act as annoying customers with inconvenient dietary restrictions. (“We don’t eat eggs. Or salads. Or bread.”)
