Based on the true story of French president François Mitterrand’s personal chef Danièle Delpeuch, Haute Cuisine premiered last year in France to favorable reviews and is now making rounds in the film festival circuit. While it may provide a fascinating glimpse into the world of cooking for very powerful people, and running an all-male kitchen as a woman, the real pull of this trailer is the food porn: fruit tarts, pears poached in wine, beef en croûte de sel. Even the regular foie gras on bread looks amazing, and leads to the line about screwing dieticians.
