Matty Matheson is one of our favorite internet people ever. Ever since he taught us how to make the perfect cheeseburger years ago (rule #1, “don’t f*ck with the sh*t), we’ve been hooked on the guy. Since then, he’s taught us several recipes, including how to make squad fried chicken and several important life lessons (there can be a lasagna so good that it will actually get you laid).
Now, Matheson is bringing his signature brand to Viceland. His upcoming show Dead Set on Life premieres on the network on July 7th. While Matheson is known for his humor, there’s also a gravitas to him. He used to use drugs and hard alcohol, but at 29, he suffered a massive heart attack. He recovered and was back at work in the kitchen just ten days later. After the heart attack, he vowed to spend his time well. In the trailer for the show, he says, “Before I die, I wanna see everything, do anything, and eat everything I can.”
Don’t worry. The trailer still has its fair share of hilarious, and of course, he’ll be singing the whole way through, including the soon-to-be instant classic, “We got some bacon, and some elk stew.”
We can’t wait. Watch the trailer:
