The careers of many of today’s food personalities were launched off the wings of a food truck (Roy Choi and Doug Quint, to name a few). But what happens when it goes the other way around? What happens when a famous person decides to hop in a truck, take to the streets, and fling tacos to the people?
Sometimes the results are good. Sometimes the results are weird. Sometimes they disappear into the night like a Jewish prophet. But when celebrity chefs step out of the kitchen, you know that you’re not going to get your normal, quirky, moustache-wearing server-serviced food truck — and that can be a good thing.
(Note: Rocco DiSpirito’s Now Eat This is not on this list, because it does not qualify as “Best” at anything.)
