WATCH: Rep. Dan Crenshaw Delights Congressional Dinner With Daring Trump Impersonation

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) was a featured speaker at the Washington Press Club Foundation’s annual Congressional Dinner and surprised the audience with a charming and funny impersonation of President Donald Trump.

Crenshaw opened with “actually I’m going to start with a Trump joke — I want to earn your trust,” before telling members of the press in the audience “make you think I’m one of you,” which was received with laughter.

The former SNL guest then launched into his Trump impersonation by mocking the commander in chief for referring to Apple CEO Tim Cook as “Tim Apple.”

‘Tim, he makes a lot of money,’” Crenshaw offered in a strangely nasal turn at doing Trump, then added “more money than me? No, not possible.”
The recently elected Texas freshman congressman went on, adding “he makes the phones. I make the hotels. He makes tiny, little phones. I make big, beautiful hotels. What are those phones called? Apples. Tim Apple.”

Since getting elected, and getting loads of attention for his graceful handling of what many saw as unfair mockery at the hands of SNL’s Pete Davidson, Crenshaw has become something of a media darling. His funny — and somewhat daring — impersonation of President Trump demonstrates why.
