UFC star Conor McGregor on Friday posted — and then deleted — a slur-filled tweet calling out longtime rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.
McGregor and Nurmagomedov fought one another in the main event of UFC 229 in 2018 following months of pre-fight antics that saw McGregor hurl a multitude of racist attacks at his Dagestan-born, Muslim opponent. The bad blood between the two was so intense that when Nurmagomedov won via submission in the fourth round of five, he quickly directed his attention to McGregor’s training staff and actually climbed out of the ring and charged them.
Seven years later, McGregor hasn’t stopped insulting Nurmagomedov. In the Friday tweet, McGregor appeared to call for a rematch — despite the fact that Nurmagomedov has been retired since 2021 — while taking shots at him and his family. Also included in the tweet was a screenshot of an insult he said about Nurmagomedov’s wife after their fight.

The tweet was deleted shortly after it was posted, but McGregor gave the internet more than enough time to take screenshots.

McGregor’s tweet is just the latest controversy surround the UFC. Earlier in the week, featherweight Bryce Mitchell debuted his podcast by praising Adolf Hitler.
