First it was Lionsgate, then Springsteen. And now, we can all add everyone’s favorite porn site, say it with me — xHamster — to the growing list of services that have removed themselves from patronage in the Tar Heel State after the passage of the Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act (House Bill 2). The so-called “bathroom bill” bans transgendered people from using their bathroom of choice and excludes all LGBTQ people from anti-discrimination protection.

North Carolina users were disappointed when they settled in for a little xHamster fun yesterday and were met with only a blank screen. Mike Kulich, the site’s spokesman, told HuffPo:

“We have spent the last 50 years fighting for equality for everyone and these laws are discriminatory which XHamster.com does not tolerate. Judging by the stats of what you North Carolinians watch, we feel this punishment is a severe one. We will not standby and pump revenue into a system that promotes this type of garbage. We respect all sexualities and embrace them.”

Kulich hilariously took another dig at North Carolina

specifically in his statement, clarifying the sexual preferences of at least some of the Tar Heel faithful: “Back in March, we had 400,000 hits for the term ‘Transsexual’ from North Carolina alone. People from that state searched ‘Gay’ 319,907 times.”

Kulich also told HuffPo that users trying to access the site will soon see a prompt on the xHamster homepage to sign a petition calling for the repeal of HB2.
