6 Dead After Michigan Shooting Spree; Suspect an Uber Driver Who Opened Fire Between Stops (UPDATE)
Six people were killed and two more were injured in a shooting spree in Kalamazoo County, Michigan last night.
There were three separate shootings. According to CNN, the first happened in an apartment parking lot, the second at a car dealership, and outside a Cracker Barrel. A total of eight people were shot at, and six of them died.
Initial reports had said that seven died, but it turned out later that a 14-year-old girl shot at the Cracker Barrel was not dead, but just seriously injured.
Kalamazoo police ended up arresting a suspect, Jason Brian Dalton, late in the night. Prosecutor Jeff Getting said at a press conference earlier today that he’s facing murder charges.
Authorities have said Dalton has no prior criminal record, and earlier released Dalton’s mugshot after he was taken into custody:
The shooting victims have not yet been publicly identified.
UPDATE –– 12:12 pm EST: Multiple reports are saying that Dalton was an Uber driver who shot and killed people in between drop-offs.
