Last night, six police officers were shot in three separate incidents last night, and one officer in Florida was killed.
In Kissimmee, Florida, Sgt. Sam Howard and Officer Matthew Baxter responded to suspicious activity, and according to CNN, they were shot at “within minutes” of showing up at the scene.
Chief Jeff O’Dell confirmed last night that Baxter passed away and Howard remains in “grave critical condition.”
UPDATE –– 3:14 pm ET: Sgt. Howard has passed away too, per a statement this afternoon from the Kissimmee Police.
Authorities have arrested at least one suspect in connection with the shooting.

Two officers were shot in Jacksonville, Florida last night as well. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the suspect was shot by police and has died.
And in Pennsylvania, two State Troopers were shot in Fayette County. Both are in the hospital, but the suspect was shot and killed on the scene.
