Shots were fired at a Walmart in Amarillo, Texas, Tuesday afternoon, and the shooter had taken at least one hostage in what police described in a statement as a “work-place violence situation.”
Following a standoff that lasted about an hour, the suspect was shot dead by police and the hostages were all rescued. There were no injured victims.

A host of agencies including Amarillo SWAT, APD, RCSO, PCSO and DPS were on the scene, and shoppers had been evacuated from the store prior to the standoff.
Police shut down the roads leading to the store and are still asking motorists to avoid the area.
